Liberation – Chocolate!

“He never tasted chocolate”

This is a line from the awesome miniseries “Band of Brothers”.
The scene shows a side of war people sometimes forget. Chocolate, something most people take for granted was already a rare treat before the war, and became very hard to find during the war.
So for children born just before or during the war, it was something they never had the chance to eat. But with the liberation of western Europe, a lot of soldiers gave out cigarettes and food to civilians, and thus a lot of children tasted their first chocolate when the allies liberated their villages and cities.

We want to highlight this side with this set.
We also hope you think of the little children who lived during the war the next time you eat chocolate, and hope you experience the same joy and gratitude!
